Summary[]
Calvin and Hobbes finally discover who brought them to the Death Zone.
Full plot[]
Calvin and Hobbes try to escape from the dark room. They spot a painting of someone playing a harp, and next to it is an actual harp. Calvin strikes a chord, and a clicking is heard. Deducing that the way to get out is via music, Hobbes begins plucking random strings. Meanwhile, the alter egos are still hard at work, formulating a plan to rescue Calvin and Hobbes. Tracer reads the tablet, which reads, "To lose is to win and he who wins shall lose." Spiff realizes that that whoever takes Rassilon's ring will gain immortality. Holograpic Retro pops in and says that's what he needed to know, turning on the gang. Socrates knocks him unconscious. Calvin realizes the correct tune was in the painting. Hobbes plays the correct notes and a secret door opens, leading them to a dark laboratory with the action figures used to abduct them. They try to find out who did it to them and it is revealed it is John Howard Chill...the alien version of him who took the form of the human. John Howard explains his goals to get immortality. Meanwhile, Andy and Sherman tie up Retro and Sherman goes to turn off the force field. Spiff decides to call Calvin through MTM. John Howard tells Calvin and Hobbes he used them to clear the way of traps and then begins mind controlling Calvin. Stupendous Man calls Calvin through the MTM, telling him they're on the way but Calvin speaks to them to stay where they are, as the MTM overloads and breaks. The gang doesn't listen as the cardboard box flies in, but suddenly, Calvin, Hobbes, and John Howard teleport into the tomb.
